Slate – Kitchen & Bar

The restaurant features gorgeous decor and a wonderful ambiance. While service was a bit slow despite the dining room being fairly empty, the food more than made up for it. Every dish was delicious, but the chicken jallof rice stole the show. It was so flavorful we wanted to go back the very next day! The fish and chips was a close runner up. Pricing is incredibly reasonable, too.

A Perfect Final Meal in Kenya at Slate Restaurant

My sister and I ended our trip to Kenya with a wonderful meal at Slate Restaurant, conveniently located inside Skynest Residences, directly across from the reception area. It was the perfect way to wrap up our visit.

I ordered the sweet potato sushi with tofu along with a shrimp sushi dish (I can’t remember the name), and both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The food was excellent, and the drinks were just as enjoyable.

This was actually my sister’s second time ordering from Slate, which speaks to the consistency and quality of the restaurant.

The atmosphere is modern, relaxed, and inviting, making it a great place to unwind. As our last meal before leaving Kenya, it was a memorable dining experience and a wonderful way to end our trip. We’d gladly return the next time we’re in Nairobi.

We had a lovely evening at the restaurant. While the food did not quite match the price, it was still enjoyable and nicely presented. The live band playing in the background was wonderful and created a great atmosphere. The service was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Overall, we truly enjoyed our dinner and had a very pleasant time.

Slate is one of the best restaurants you could visit in Nairobi, excellent service and service staff, awesome and very tasty food! They never miss the date nights themes! You try it 😜
Mr Cass and Nebster, best service ever

The only decent thing was the service and the pisco sour. We've dined at many places in Nairobi and it has been an experience. But this place has a lot to improve if they want to be relevant. My wife's shrimp and coconut soup was overly salted, the explanation we got was worse than the crime. The burger was average. It was more of a caramelized onion burger than anything. I hate that I have to say these things but we were so let down.
