The Hub Karen

A nice place to spend a few hours in Nairobi. Really liked the open-air mall concept, which gives the place a more relaxed and spacious feel compared to a typical shopping mall.

There are plenty of amenities, shops, and restaurants, and I picked up quite a few souvenirs from the temporary stalls set up near the entrance. A great place to shop, grab a meal, or simply walk around and enjoy the atmosphere.

The Hub Karen is a very upscale mall in a very upscale neighborhood located in Western Nairobi! There's a plethora of restaurants, stores, and adventure parks to satisfy every food craving and 🪣 bucketlist desire! The Mexican Sabor Restaurant is highly recommended for their amazing cuisine and friendly staff!

Cool, I really like the concept of an “open-air” mall, it feels very nice and relaxed. The weather was pleasant too, so it was an easy visit.

That said, I missed seeing more well-known brands for the general public. Most of the stores felt local or smaller brands, except for Decathlon, Carrefour, and one or two others. When it comes to fast food, only the most popular chains were there. As for restaurants, they were mostly local places, an Indian one and, from what I saw, just one Italian option to add a bit of variety. Many names were unfamiliar to me.

Still, the environment itself is very pleasant. It was decorated for Christmas and/or New Year, which made it look nice and playful. I went during the day, but at night, with all the lights on, it must look beautiful.

It was worth visiting and getting to know it, but next time I’d probably choose a different mall to explore :)

The Hub is easily one of my favorite malls in Nairobi. It has a fantastic open-air design that makes it feel less crowded and more relaxed than many other shopping centers.
​There's a great selection of shops. For groceries, there's a massive Carrefour that has almost everything. For fashion and sportswear, you can find international brands like LC Waikiki, Adidas, and Puma. There are also great stores for home goods, electronics at stores like Game, and variety shops like Miniso. You can pretty much find whatever you're looking for.
​The dining options are also excellent. There's a wide range, from popular cafes like Artcaffe and Java House to fast food and fine dining restaurants. Many of them have outdoor seating around the central courtyard, which is lovely.
​It's very family-friendly with a dedicated play area for kids, and the whole place always feels clean and secure. Parking is ample and well-organized.
​Definitely recommend it for shopping, a meal, or just a relaxing afternoon. It can get busy on weekends, but the spacious layout handles the crowd well.

The mall is amazing Heavenly sceneries, a great master piece of architecture if you want to take a walk visit the lakeside , great eatery joints, a variety of shops, good security the washrooms are always very clean everyone is ready to assist and if you're looking for any art, curio and craft items they have it all at the Artmania gallery at the upper ground floor and the services are very friendly and professional
