Very decent pricing super nice owner and a large collection of paintings to choose from. I bought four paintings and I’m so happy with the purchase. I would 100% come back when in town.
A lovely place to buy Art, they have a wonderful collection of Art on various mediums like Canvas, Paper and more, they have a variety of subjects and price range to suite all lovers of art. They have a very large collection of watercolors from Watercolor Artist Mustafa Degani. They have 2 locations in Village Market Mall. Happy shopping
The Artz Gallery in the Village Market is simply fantastic, there are two locations within the shopping center, both with some really amaizing pieces from local artists. One of my favorite activies when travelling abroad is to check out the local art scene, and when possible support them buy purchasing a piece that catches my eye. I found an incredible piece at Artz Gallery that I can't wait to hang on my wall when I get home. If you're travelling to Nairobi and you want to buy some artwork or even if you just want to look, you have to check out this gallery! Don't buy any artwork from the markets or side of the road tourist traps, they're all the same and you may actually end up paying more (depending on your negotiating skills) than you would for some real art that you'll find at Artz. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and you won't be disappointed.
Lastly, don't be a jerk when you go in there and try to negotiate over a few dollars, when I went into the shop I one of their customers negotiating over $2! When I looked at the piece he purchased (for $192) I couldn't believe it, that piece was beautiful, it should have gone for well over $1,000 USD, and would have back home. They really try to price their pieces so artists can sell their work - so do yourself a favor and support the artists by not arguing over the price of a latte, the piece or art you purchase will provide you with joy and happiness long after you drink that coffee.
